Incorrect warranty information was given repeatedly by GT's salesman at time of first visit. The salesman conceded his error when I found that the company's informational CD-ROM gave conflicting information.
The template team arrived over two hours late, and the installation team (next visit) arrived one hour and 58 minutes late! The workmen never offered any apologies but were replete with excuses. Multiple calls were placed to the company office on both occasions. Twenty-fours hours after the final installation delay, I have yet to hear from the main office.
The template team (second visit) punched multiple holes through the dry wall when removing the old counter trim. The same workers removed the lower window trim to three kitchen windows, contrary to what the salesman had told us.
Upon the day of installation (final and third visit), we were surprised that the replacement sink was substantially smaller than our original sink. This surprise resulted in multiple ramifications related to plumbing, faucet location, and, of course, sink location. When installing the sink in the resulting, much larger hole, I noted that one edge of the sink, for its entire length of 30 inches, rested on only 1/8th of an inch of counter support. The two shorter sides rested on only a quarter inch of counter—and this was AFTER the workers had added extra boards for support! I considered this unacceptable support, especially on occasions with two bowls fully filled with water, and the worker readily agreed to add additional counter support. This would not have been done without my oversight and my specific request.
When the workers finally finished on both occasions, their clean-up left a lot to be desired. Debris littered our kitchen floors and counter-tops. They never vacuumed or swept up after the template visit. They did sweep the floor following the last installation visit, but we had to provide the broom! Although GT refuses to disconnect/reconnect the sink drains and faucets, without my knowledge one worker tampered with the DISCONNECTED hot water shut-off valve UNDER the kitchen sink to get their clean-up water! If they had just bothered to ask, a large sink sat available in the laundry room just ten feet away! That sums up the entire problem with this company: no one communicates with the customer!
In conclusion: I was underwhelmed with the knowledge, experience, and attitude of the entire staff of this company. Customer satisfaction is not a priority. If you are willing to tolerate this type of company-wide complacency and willing to supervise every detail of their work, you might consider this company.
