Window Treatments Suggestions
My husband and I currently have very bla window curtains and would like to replace them to match are recent attempts to update our house to a more modern look and feel. Currently, our curtains have a country cottage look and we would like to replace them with new curtains or blinds. Our main concern is the family and dining room. We have dark hardwood flooring and a light olive like paint on our walls. our furniture is a mixture of beige, rod iron and glass. I always see these shows on HGTV were decorators come in grab some old bedding, trim it and attach it to a nice curtain rod and sometimes it looks great. This is not necessarily what we want and we have a decent budget to work with. We just want something that looks good now and for the next few years. What window treatments could anyone suggest to complement our new look.

I think that classic drapes/curtains are the way to go. Maybe just get an upgraded material with a more simplistic design. The Latest Reply
A good reason too to prepare your soil in the fall even if you only plan to plant in spring only is the winter snow that comes. The snow brings with it a lot of nitrogen and getting that into the prepared soil is great for your spring garden. So even cold states like Katharina's can get something out of the later seasons.
